We are honoured to share the exciting news that five HKBU researchers have been awarded funding for the Hong Kong Scholars Program 2024. The awarded HKBU Professors are Professor Christy Cheung from the School of Business, Professor Kelvin Leung, Professor Shi Jue and Professor Wang Jun from the Faculty of Science, and Professor Yu Zhiling from the School of Chinese Medicine.
The “Hong Kong Scholars Program” was jointly launched by the Society of Hong Kong Scholars and the China National Postdoctoral Council under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Its aim is to effectively pool the talents and research resources of Hong Kong and the Mainland to train outstanding postdoctoral fellows. The postdoctoral fellows named the “Hong Kong Scholars” will come to Hong Kong to start their postdoctoral research work under professors at various universities in Hong Kong. This Program will help professors in Hong Kong solicit high-quality PhD graduates from leading universities on the Mainland, thus promoting academic and scientific exchanges and collaboration between both sides.
Eligible Hong Kong supervisors must be currently conducting high-level research projects. Prioritised for this Program are those with experience in obtaining projects through international competition(s), or a track record in conducting national key projects.
